Where the Path Leads
I spent an hour this morning staring at a map of my own neighborhood, trying to decide which way to walk to the post office. It sounds silly, but I often feel like I’m choosing a version of my day based on the street I pick. One route is loud and full of shops; the other is quiet, lined with trees that seem to hold their breath. I ended up taking the long way, the one that feels like it goes nowhere in particular. There is something comforting about a road that just keeps stretching out, not asking anything of you other than to keep moving forward. We spend so much of our lives worrying about the destination, checking our watches and counting the miles, that we forget the road itself is the only thing we actually possess. It is a steady, silent companion that waits for us, regardless of where we think we are headed. Does the road ever feel like it is waiting for you, too?

Mirka Krivankova has captured this feeling perfectly in her image titled The Road. It reminds me that sometimes the most beautiful journeys are the ones that simply invite us to walk. What does this path look like to you?
