The Morning Ritual
In the quiet hours before the world demands our attention, there is a small, sacred architecture to the kitchen. It begins with the sound of a knife against a board, a rhythmic percussion that marks the transition from sleep to wakefulness. We gather the remnants of the earth—the bruised skin of an apple, the soft, yielding red of a berry—and we transform them. It is an act of alchemy, really. We take the raw, chaotic bounty of the garden and refine it into something singular, something that sustains us for the hours ahead. We do this not because we must, but because the act of preparation is a way of anchoring ourselves to the present. We are creating a bridge between the hunger of the night and the productivity of the day. Is it possible that the nourishment we seek is found as much in the careful assembly of the glass as in the first sip of the morning?

Juhi Saxena has captured this quiet grace in her photograph titled Strawberry Apple Smoothie. She invites us to pause and appreciate the simple, vibrant start to a day. Does this image remind you of the small rituals that hold your own mornings together?
