The Quiet Bloom
I spent this morning trying to organize my bookshelf, pulling out paperbacks I haven’t touched in years. I found a pressed flower inside a book of poetry, its color long since faded to a brittle, dusty brown. It felt strange to hold something that was once so vibrant and full of life, now reduced to a fragile memory. It made me think about how we often overlook the things that are right in front of us until they are gone or until they change. We wait for grand, sweeping moments to feel alive, but maybe the real magic is in the small, quiet things that just exist without asking for our attention. A petal opening, a stem reaching for the sun, a life cycle that repeats itself whether we are watching or not. We are so busy looking for the next big thing that we forget to notice the simple, glowing grace of the present. What is something small you have noticed today that you usually walk right past?

Zahraa Al Hassani has captured this beautiful, radiant moment in her photograph titled Glowing Tulip. It feels like a reminder to slow down and appreciate the life unfolding in our own backyards. Does this image make you want to step outside and look a little closer at the world today?
