Grace Amidst the Noise
I was waiting for the bus this morning when a woman walked past me, moving through the crowded sidewalk as if she were walking through a quiet garden. Everyone else was rushing, checking their phones or dodging puddles, but she seemed to carry her own stillness with her. It made me realize how much of our lives are spent reacting to the noise around us. We let the city dictate our pace, our mood, and even the way we hold our shoulders. But watching her, I wondered if it is possible to remain entirely yourself, even when the world is loud and messy and demanding. We often think we need to change our surroundings to find peace, but maybe the real strength is in keeping your own rhythm while the rest of the world spins out of control. Do you ever feel like you are holding onto a quiet center while everything else is moving too fast?

Keith Goldstein has captured this exact feeling of quiet dignity in his work titled Woman in Hijab. It is a beautiful reminder of how one person can stand tall against the chaos of a city street. Does this image make you feel a sense of calm, or do you see something else entirely?
