Home Reflections Where the Sky Meets Us

Where the Sky Meets Us

I spent this morning trying to fix a leaky faucet in the kitchen. I kept turning the wrench, convinced that if I just applied enough pressure, the dripping would finally stop. It didn’t. Eventually, I just sat down on the floor and listened to the rhythm of the water hitting the porcelain. It was steady, persistent, and entirely indifferent to my frustration. I realized then how much of my life is spent trying to force things into a state of stillness. We want the world to hold its breath for us, to stop moving so we can catch up. But the world doesn’t work that way. It keeps shifting, turning, and expanding, regardless of whether we are ready to follow. Perhaps the peace I was looking for wasn’t in stopping the drip, but in accepting that everything is in a constant state of change. What if we stopped trying to fix the horizon and just let it wash over us instead?

Fusion by Partha Roy

Partha Roy has captured this feeling of vast, shifting wonder in the image titled Fusion. It reminds me that sometimes the most beautiful moments are the ones that simply refuse to stand still. Does this view make you feel small, or does it make you feel like you are part of something much larger?
