Home Reflections The Dust of Joy

The Dust of Joy

There is a season for everything, and there is a season for letting go of the boundaries we build around ourselves. We often move through the world with a careful, protective distance, keeping our edges sharp and our colors contained. But there are moments when the air itself seems to invite a softening, a surrender to the wind. When we allow ourselves to be touched by the elements—by the dust, the light, and the presence of others—we find that we are not separate entities at all. We are part of a larger, swirling movement, a dance that requires no choreography. To be covered in the remnants of a shared experience is to be marked by life itself. It is a reminder that our joy is not something to be hoarded or kept pristine; it is meant to be scattered, to be caught in the breath of the day, and to settle upon us like a blessing we did not earn, but were lucky enough to receive.

Sharing Colors by Shahnaz Parvin

Shahnaz Parvin has captured this beautiful, fleeting grace in her image titled Sharing Colors. It is a gentle reminder that when we open our hands to the world, we are often met with a brilliance we could never create alone. May we always find the courage to let the colors of life settle upon us.
