The Quiet Shift
I spent this morning trying to clear out my closet. It is one of those tasks I put off until the air turns crisp and I have no choice but to face the layers I have been hiding away. I pulled out a sweater I haven’t worn in years, and for a second, I felt a strange, sharp pang of loss. It wasn’t for the sweater, but for the version of myself who wore it—someone who had more patience and less to worry about. We spend so much of our lives holding onto things, hoping they will anchor us to who we used to be. But the world doesn’t stay still, and neither do we. There is a quiet, inevitable grace in letting things go, in watching the colors of our own lives fade and change just like the trees outside my window. We are always in the middle of a departure, aren’t we? What are you currently letting go of to make room for what comes next?

Mai Phuong Duong has captured this feeling perfectly in the image titled Autumn in Transition. It feels like a gentle reminder that change is the only constant we can truly rely on. Does this scene bring a sense of peace or melancholy to your day?
