The Quietest Morning
I spent this morning trying to fix a leaky faucet in the kitchen. It was one of those small, nagging tasks that I had been putting off for weeks. My hands were covered in grease, and I was feeling quite impatient with the whole process. Then, I stepped outside to catch my breath and noticed a single flower resting on the damp grass. It wasn’t doing anything important. It wasn’t trying to be noticed or to solve a problem. It was just existing, perfectly still, in the cool air. I stood there for a long time, forgetting about the tools and the mess inside. It made me realize how often we rush through our days trying to mend things, forgetting that there is a certain grace in simply being present. We spend so much energy fixing, but how often do we stop to just witness the quiet beauty that exists without our help? Does the world feel a little lighter when you finally stop to look at the small things?

Siew Bee Lim has captured this exact sense of stillness in the beautiful image titled Frangipani. It reminds me that even the simplest bloom can hold a world of peace if we give it our attention. What do you see when you look at this flower?
