The Sweetness of Small Things

I spent this morning trying to fix a wobbly chair in the kitchen. I kept misplacing my screwdriver, and the coffee I poured was already cold by the time I finally tightened the last bolt. I felt annoyed, but then I sat down to test it and found a small, forgotten crumb of cake on the counter. I ate it, and for a second, the frustration of the morning just vanished. It is funny how we spend so much of our lives chasing big, loud milestones, yet it is often the quiet, sugary remnants of an afternoon that actually ground us. We look for meaning in grand gestures, but perhaps meaning is just a texture, a taste, or a brief pause in a busy day. It is the simple act of noticing the sweetness that remains when everything else feels a bit broken or out of place. Do you find that the smallest things are often the ones that stay with you the longest?
