The Weight of Silence

There is a particular kind of gravity found in the act of surrender. We spend so much of our lives reaching, grasping, and defining our place in the world, yet there are moments when the only honest response is to let go. To bow one’s head is to acknowledge that we are part of something vast, something that does not require our permission to exist. It is a quiet shedding of the ego, a return to the earth from which we came. In the midst of the noise and the movement of the day, there is a sanctuary waiting in the stillness of a single heart. It is not found in grand gestures or loud declarations, but in the soft, rhythmic folding of the spirit. When we stop trying to be seen and simply allow ourselves to be, we find that the space around us begins to breathe. What remains when the world falls away and only the quiet pulse of gratitude is left?

Reverence by Shirren Lim

Shirren Lim has captured this profound surrender in her image titled Reverence. It is a gentle reminder that even in the busiest of places, one can always find the path back to the center. May you find a moment today to simply be still.
