Born in the Bronx in 1957, Gerardo Simonetti honed his craft at the International Center of Photography in New York City. His extensive travels across South America, Central America, Asia, and Europe, combined with his professional tenure as a staff photographer for Gannett Newspapers, have deeply informed his observant, narrative-driven style. Now based in Fortaleza, Brazil, Simonetti balances his creative pursuits with his work as a guide and translator, continuing to document the world with the same keen eye for human character that defined his earlier career.
