The Quiet Edge of Somewhere
I spent this morning trying to clear out my inbox, but I ended up just staring at the cursor blinking on a blank screen. It felt like I was waiting for permission to stop being busy. Eventually, I closed the laptop and walked to the window. The world outside was moving at its own pace, completely indifferent to my list of things to do. It made me realize how often we trap ourselves in the noise of our own making, forgetting that there are places where the only schedule is the tide. We spend so much energy trying to reach a destination, but what if the most important part of the journey is simply finding a place where you can finally hear yourself think? There is a specific kind of grace in being somewhere that doesn’t ask anything of you. It is a rare, quiet luxury to exist in a space that feels like it has been waiting for you to arrive, just to remind you that the world is much larger than your to-do list. Where do you go when you need to disappear for a while?

Ryszard Wierzbicki has captured this feeling perfectly in his image titled Pariya Haad Yuan Bay. It brings me right back to that sense of stillness I was craving this morning. Does this view make you want to pack a bag and leave everything behind?
