Home Reflections Looking Upwards

Looking Upwards

I spent ten minutes this morning just standing in my kitchen, waiting for the kettle to boil. I usually spend that time scrolling through my phone, but today I just looked up at the ceiling. I noticed the way the morning sun was hitting the window, casting a strange, dancing pattern of shadows across the floor. It was so intricate, like a map I couldn’t quite read. We spend so much of our lives looking straight ahead, focused on the next task or the next turn in the road. We forget that the world is constantly weaving patterns above our heads, layering light and shadow in ways we rarely stop to acknowledge. It is easy to feel small when you realize how much detail exists in the quiet corners of a day. If we only looked up more often, would we feel less hurried, or would we just be more overwhelmed by the sheer complexity of it all? What do you see when you stop to look at the patterns around you?

Leaves Laces by Ng You Way

Ng You Way has captured this feeling perfectly in the image titled Leaves Laces. It reminds me that there is a quiet, rhythmic beauty waiting for us if we only shift our gaze. Does this view make you want to go for a walk in the trees today?
