The Best Piece of Meat I Ever Tasted by Rodrigo Aliaga

It is part of three photographs I took to complete my Mastering the Art of Food Photography Course, but the main idea was to invite the observer to eat an appetizing piece of beefsteak with the exotic fried yucca. The angle of the point of view is “downward,” so that’s how you should see it in front of you. Simple, tasty: the less is more. It was the best piece of meat I ever tasted.

The biggest challenge of this photo was to arrange the elements in order to tell a story. So I decided to set the different kinds of bread around the basic ingredients. The artistic touch I think is the yolk on the top of the flour. Emulates a big fried egg.

The raw trout has a very nice texture. When the light comes from one side, stands out the texture. The color of the trout contrast with the cutting board and the white table surface. And the green of the lemons and parsley contrast with the orange of the trout, as opposite colors. The pepper seeds are just a detail.
