During mid-October, one afternoon there was a lot of life on our quarry Pond. Among the migration birds, I found this young swan, who is resident on the lake. It was impressive, how all the other trouble could not bother him at all, he just enjoyed his corner.
In the Old Town of Dresden, also called Hofkirche is a Baroque Catholic church. It is the largest church building in the federal state of Saxony. It has been the cathedral of the Dresden-Meißen diocese since 1980. The cathedral was built in 1739–1755 during the reign of the Elector of Saxony and King of Poland Friedrich August II.
Every day I try to go out to our quarry ponds, which are quite near to river Elbe. Some days it's full of life, especially during autumn when migrant birds are coming back. That afternoon at around 5 pm I saw these mergansers for the first time, and they showed off very macho.
