On the way back from a hike, the sight on the left catches my eye. Brake, stop, take out your camera. So many simple steps to immortalise a singular scene, between the beauty of nature, the cement of the road and the result of human deforestation. All under a gloomy, damp and rainy Belgian sky.

The photo was taken in the Autumn. I love the sun the most in the Autumn when it’s possible to take great photos all day. The sun is low, the light is soft, and the shadows are long. I found an interesting part of the city, set up a tripod and waited for a moment that would be interesting to me to shoot.

The photo was created for the purposes of the basic colors exercise, so it bears the subtitle "Red". This is what remains after us and what is not good for nature, and it has to change. It has to be changed very quickly and it is red as an alert.
