This photo was taken on the 31st of December, during the snowfall of 2014, one of the most copious ever recorded in Puglia and in a seaside resort. In the days of the snowfall I had been bedridden by a strong flu, but I didn't want to miss that beautiful sunny morning as well as New Year's Eve.

There was anxiety and a feeling of uncertainty in the air, tense anticipation and hope that no matter what, everything would be fine. An old, muddy, but beloved and in its own way dear lantern - as a symbol of a long wait in the same place, a symbol of static.
