James Craig -150 Years by Leanne Lindsay
On this day, I had gone into Sydney on the ferry in the hopes of taking some street photographs. On the harbour, in the distance, I could see a boat spraying up water. I didn't take much notice of it but after an hour or so, I started getting curious and paid it more attention. The boat started getting closer and I could see an armada of sail boats of various ages and characters heading towards me. It was then I realised that this parade was to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the James Craig. This magnificent sailing ship was built in Sunderland, England, and launched on 18 February 1874. In her early life James Craig carried cargo far and wide, rounding Cape Horn 23 times. She is Australia's oldest working tall-ship.
Common Sandpiper from Sundarbans by Saniar Rahman Rahul
In the Sundarbans in December 2023, I had a cool encounter with a Common Sandpiper. Just strolling around, doing its thing in the mud and water.
Dune 45 by Kristel Sturrus
As I traveled through Namibia, the green landscapes turned slowely into a dessert. The great Namibian desser, the dessert with the famous sossusvlei and Dune 45. Do you hear the sound of your old Windows computer opening? Since that famous picture was taken, Dune 45 moved along with the dessert winds, gaining and loosing its sand.
