Why settle for a crisp, clinical rendering of Warkworth’s decay? I’m genuinely moved by how the light bleeds into the tunnel’s throat, softening the industrial rot into something ethereal. It’s closer to Sugimoto’s long-exposure theatres than conventional architectural documentation. Sutcliffe chose not to resolve the crumbling concrete, opting instead for a hazy, liminal texture.
