The Weight of Momentum
I spent this morning watching a heavy rainstorm hit the pavement outside my kitchen window. It was chaotic and loud, turning the street into a blur of grey and silver. I found myself thinking about how much energy we spend trying to stay still, trying to keep our lives neat and predictable, while the world around us is constantly pushing, pulling, and crashing forward. There is a strange kind of peace in watching something move with total, unbridled force. It doesn’t ask for permission or wait for the right moment; it simply exists in the middle of its own momentum. We often fear that kind of intensity, worrying that if we let go and move that fast, we might lose our grip on who we are. But maybe the opposite is true. Maybe we only really find ourselves when we stop resisting the current and finally let the spray hit our faces. What does it feel like to be completely caught up in the middle of your own motion?

Sanjiban Ghosh has captured this exact feeling of raw, untamed energy in his photograph titled Creating Waves. It is a powerful reminder of how beautiful it is to move through the world with such purpose. Does this image make you want to dive into the chaos, or do you prefer to watch from the shore?
