The Weight of Air
Gravity is a suggestion. We spend our lives tethered to the earth, measuring our days by the distance between our feet and the soil. Yet, there are moments when the body forgets its own heaviness. A leap, a sudden suspension, a breath held in the throat—in these seconds, the world stops its turning. It is not flight, but a defiance of the inevitable. We are all anchored, yet we all dream of the arc. To leave the ground is to admit that the earth is not enough, that there is a hunger for the space between here and the horizon. We reach for something that cannot be held, and for a heartbeat, we are neither falling nor standing. What remains when the feet finally find the sand again?

Muhammed Najeeb has captured this fleeting suspension in his image titled Extra Ordinary Players… It is a reminder of how we look when we try to touch the sky. Does the ground feel different once you have left it?
