The darkness here doesn’t merely frame the subject; it consumes the periphery, forcing us to confront the weight of her solitude. Wierzbicki’s choice to compress the space with that 200mm lens creates a claustrophobic intimacy I find deeply unsettling. It’s as if the shadows are actively eroding the historical artifice of Muang Boran. When I look at her eyes, I don’t see a market seller. I see a ghost of time, refusing to be illuminated.
