It was a 1st birthday of a friend’s daughter and the place was filled with kids, shouting, running, jumping, screaming and doing all that kids can do. One of the main servings during the birthday were these chocolate bites on sticks which makes an adult drool… Kids attacked the set and got immersed in trying [...]

When I was having some tea in one of the authentic cafes in Istanbul, I spotted this gentleman in one of the shops around the area. I went there, chatted with him for a while, bought a few bric-a-brac from his shop and asked him, if I can take a picture of mine. Once I [...]

Captured this shot during a recent stroll. I found this carpet of leaves at the foot of a tree and it was a great opportunity to get a few autumnal shots, including this one, as the bed of leaves was virtually untouched and hence had a nice natural feel to it.

Photo of the Day | February 03 | Winter Day, by Ronnie Glover

Ice crystals coat the limbs of the tree and fog provides an excellent background for isolating this tree. I liked the delicate beauty that the ice crystals formed on the tree. The fog creates a sense of isolation, loneliness and or mystery. The light rendered as a blue tint in the slide image creates a [...]

When flying kites one should have taken most care to choose the right place for right activities. Be aware of any kind of obstacle when flying. Places favorable for kiteing are sports fields, parcs, squares, beaches etc., because wind conditions in open spaces are best, due to undisturbed velocity and direction of windflow. I spend almost every weekend outdoors, either hiking, mountain biking or motorcycling – and I always take my camera with me, often without taking a single picture and often although the weather or the light don’t look too promising to make a good photograph. This day was similar, it was clouded and the light was [...]

Photo of the Day | January 31 | Rock’n’Roll, by Rainer Mirau

I love shooting great landscapes in magical light. But I enjoy equally walking around looking for inimate details. When the light is flat an boring, my biggest pleasure is isolating interesting shapes of stones on a shoreline. Rain can be an advantage, because it intensifies the colors of the rocks.

This is taken by a compact camera on manual. It was a beautiful August night in Istanbul with full moon at a lucky spot to take pictures. Because I didn’t expect to take any pictures that night, I only had my little compact camera, which I carry around all the time. Later I decided to [...]

Photo of the Day | January 29 | Eurofighter Typhoon – Saltire, by Kurien Koshy Yohannan

Captured this image of a Eurofighter Typhoon engaged in an aerial maneuver at the AERO India Airshow 2011. What I really like about this image is the fact that the white smoke trails form a Scottish saltire against the blue cloudless sky.

Photograph of grape in the water to wash it. There are many ways to take a photograph, but it’s not always easy to get what you want to highlight. When washing grape thoroughly under clean running water, it makes the dirt removed, and also produce a very natural seen which we hardly notice to photograph.
