The Ghost in the Office

I often find myself thinking about the people we pass in the corridors of our lives—those who exist in the periphery of our daily routines, like the quiet coworker whose desk is just beyond the reach of the afternoon sun. We see them in fragments: a hand reaching for a pen, a silhouette against a window, a fleeting expression that vanishes before we can name it. There is a strange, haunting beauty in these half-seen lives. We are all composed of layers, aren’t we? We carry the ghosts of who we were yesterday and the shadows of who we might become tomorrow, all pressed into the same skin. It is as if we are constantly being superimposed over ourselves, a double exposure of memory and presence that only the most patient observer might notice. When the light hits just right, do we ever truly see the person standing before us, or are we merely watching the accumulation of their history? What remains of a person when they step out of the light and back into the hum of the city?

Goog Man by Yury Rephar

Yury Rephar has captured this delicate layering in his beautiful image titled Goog Man. It serves as a gentle reminder that even in the most ordinary spaces, there is a profound depth to be discovered. Does this portrait change how you look at the people you see every day?
