Fill Your Frame with True Color

Written by Nasrul Eam

To us, color is a visual experience. It’s a perception that refers to human physiological and psychological responses to light. It is light that colors our vision with its own rhythm, modes, and harmonies, in all possible colors, in the visible spectrum. Every moment consists of colors, whether vibrant or flat. From the moment of sunrise to sunset, or even at night, from definitions to attributes, from your camera display and then to final outputs, color is always there.

This guide takes the photographer through the full journey of color — from understanding how different light sources affect the color of a scene, to managing white balance, color profiles, and the choices made in post-processing. It covers what a photographer must understand about color in order to work with it confidently every day, ensuring that the colors captured are the colors intended, and that every image reflects the world as it was truly seen, felt, and meant to be remembered.
