Colorful Tips by Sanjoy Sengupta

Captured on a lazy summer midday, this macro study transforms a simple set of color pencils into a vibrant exploration of light and texture. The photographer utilized a 105mm macro lens combined with a fill flash to meticulously highlight the intricate details of the pencil tips. By experimenting with long exposure and a narrow aperture, the image achieves a striking depth of field that elevates mundane objects into a sophisticated artistic composition. This photograph is award-worthy for its technical precision and the creative ability to find profound beauty in the everyday items surrounding the photographer's home.

A creative close-up composition. The colors are clearly displayed, the saturation is according to the reality. The background is subtle and inconspicuous and fits perfectly with the colors shown. The fine progressions of the sharpener are clearly visible.
