Captured against the dramatic backdrop of the eroding Danish coastline, 'Disappearing Lighthouse' documents the final chapter of a structure reclaimed by nature. Nuno Alexandre masterfully frames the solitary lighthouse, which stands as the last remnant of a once-populated settlement now consumed by the sea. The composition emphasizes the fragility of the landscape, highlighting the inevitable intersection of human architecture and environmental decay. This poignant image is award-worthy for its ability to transform a geological reality into a haunting visual narrative, capturing a fleeting moment in time before the lighthouse is lost to the encroaching tide forever.

I love this…the way the clouds meet the sea it almost looks like this lighthouse is suspended in space, like we are seeing earth from some lighthouse on another planet…beautiful!
Thank you for capturing something that will be gone one day in our future. It really is beautiful architecture for a lighthouse.
Nice shot Nuno !
