Captured on Kerala Piravi Day, this candid photograph documents a quiet moment of respite for a local fisherman. Positioned on a bridge overlooking the market, the photographer observed the subject as he paused his labor to smoke beneath the structure. This image masterfully captures the intersection of daily life and cultural celebration, transforming a simple break into a poignant narrative of the common man. The authenticity of the scene, combined with the photographer's patience and keen eye for human connection, elevates this work into a compelling portrait of life in Kerala.
Based in Kerala, India, Agnisoonu balances a professional career in management and software engineering with a deep-seated passion for the visual arts. Originally an accomplished painter, he transitioned into photography three years ago, bringing a painterly sensibility to his candid compositions. His dedication to the craft has earned him significant recognition, including the honor of having his work featured in a Canon India calendar, marking a major milestone in his evolving journey as a photographer.

We are taught that to be is to do. We measure the day by the tasks we have stripped from the hours, as if the value of a life is found only in the friction of movement. But there is a different truth in the stillness between breaths.
Read the reflection →In the nineteenth century, the industrial clock began to dictate the rhythm of the human pulse. Before that, time was measured by the sun, the tides, or the slow, deliberate growth of a garden.

What Life Brings by Orhan Aksel
This is an image. This is a moment well captured.
Thanks for sharing.
i like this photo. I am actually a tad bit annoyed at my perception. I couldnt tell the blue water was the water. At first i thought that man was against a blue wall hangning down from his shirt being hooked on the blue wall which almost resembled him hanging from the blue sky. and then i look closely, he is sitting on a boat. *sigh* beautiful picture.
Thank you friends :)

Grt shot, buddy
superb capture lovely use of the available light
The thing that makes this picture stand out is the unique angle it is taken from. The subject is so clear but yet the expression is obscure, making the viewer think about the man on the boat…. his concerns, struggles. Agni has nailed this one.
Thank you so much NO, Sanand :)
