Home Reflections The Art of Letting Go

The Art of Letting Go

I spent this morning clearing out the hallway closet. It is one of those tasks I have been putting off for months, mostly because I hate deciding what to keep and what to toss. I found an old scarf I haven’t worn in years and a stack of letters that felt heavy just to hold. It is strange how we cling to things, isn’t it? We act as if holding onto the past keeps it alive, but really, it just takes up space where new things could grow. I eventually opened the window to let some air in, and I watched a single dry leaf drift down from the tree outside. It didn’t fight the wind. It didn’t try to climb back up to the branch. It just let go, landing softly on the grass, making room for the winter to come. Sometimes, I think we could learn a lot from that kind of quiet surrender. What are you holding onto today that might be ready to drift away?
