Tracing the Ancient Lines

I spent this morning tracing the worn edges of an old map I found in a thrift store. It was covered in coffee stains and handwritten notes from someone who traveled through places that don’t even exist on modern charts anymore. As I ran my finger over the ink, I realized how much we rely on things that have been written down to tell us who we are and where we should go. We look for signs in the margins of our lives, hoping for a bit of wisdom to settle the noise in our heads. It is a quiet, desperate kind of searching. We want to know that we are not just wandering aimlessly, but that there is a path laid out for us, etched in something more permanent than our own fleeting thoughts. Do you ever feel like you are waiting for a sign to tell you that you are finally on the right track?

The Guidance by Zahraa Al Hassani

Zahraa Al Hassani has captured this beautiful image titled The Guidance. It reminds me of that same search for meaning within the lines of something much larger than ourselves. Does this image bring a sense of peace to your day?
