The Weight of Small Things

We walk past the ground. We look at the horizon, at the mountains, at the things that demand our attention with their scale. We forget that the earth is composed of millions of tiny, quiet assertions. A single stem holding its own against the wind. A petal that has no interest in being seen. There is a specific kind of dignity in the small. It does not ask for validation. It simply exists, occupying its own space, indifferent to the giants that tower above it. To notice it requires a change in posture. You must lower yourself. You must become small, too. You must accept that the most profound truths are often found in the dirt, beneath the shadow of a passing foot. If you look long enough, the scale of the world begins to shift. What was once insignificant becomes the only thing that matters. What happens when we stop looking for the grand and start listening to the quiet?
