In the dimly lit corridor, illuminated by sunlight towards the end, a solitary silhouette waits, a figure caught between shadows. The black-and-white image captures a moment of quiet anticipation, where time seems to stand still and the end of the hallway holds the promise of what’s to come, evoking a poignant sense of longing.

This image was captured during our December 2020 trip to Lofoten. Despite it not being the ideal time to visit due to the frequent rain and strong winds, I managed to take this shot on my phone as I couldn’t use my DSLR. The yellow cabin contrasted beautifully against the moody blue skies and dark Norwegian landscape, standing out boldly in front of a silhouetted mountain. The weather was challenging, but it added a dramatic touch to the scene. The serene yet rugged atmosphere of Lofoten in winter made the experience unforgettable. Every element in the frame came together to highlight the raw beauty of Norway.

The sun hit an electric pole and cast behind them an interesting, line-like shadow on the wet asphalt. For me, this gave the image a symbolic meaning.
