Strawberries are a fickle subject, usually demanding more than a single flash in a kitchen. One suspects this was a quick afternoon experiment, rather than a long vigil in the field. It’s technically sound, certainly, but I find myself craving the grit of a real struggle. Did the photographer return when the light failed, or just move the lamp? It’s pretty, but I’ve seen more soul in a bowl of fruit left out in the rain.

1/125sec at f/5, ISO 500, 50mm. It’s a safe, middle-of-the-road aperture choice. At f/5, the depth of field is sufficient for the fruit, but the background lacks necessary separation. ISO 500 on an 80D introduces noise that I find distracting in the shadows. It’s technically adequate, but it doesn't push the sensor. The lighting is functional, yet it’s missing the crispness I’d expect. It’s a competent experiment, but it’s not quite a professional statement.
