‘Navratri’ is a Hindu festival in which we Hindus fast over a period of nine days. Buckwheat flour is gluten-free and is allowed to be eaten during fasting. So the recipe in this photograph is of homemade deep fried buckwheat bread and potato curry, the most commonly cooked food during this festival.
