Sorrow… by Vinay Joshi

The photographer sought to capture a poignant reflection of a tree upon the water, translating a deep sense of melancholy into a visual study of light and form. Taken along the road from Pollachy to Thekkady, the image focuses on the interplay between the natural subject and its liquid mirror, emphasizing the quiet, somber beauty of the landscape. This photograph is award-worthy for its minimalist approach and the deliberate technical choice to isolate the reflection, transforming a fleeting moment in Tamil Nadu into a compelling abstract narrative that invites the viewer to contemplate the stillness of the scene.

The Mirror of Unspoken Things

We carry our histories like silt at the bottom of a river, invisible until the surface is disturbed. There are days when the world feels heavy with the things we have left unsaid, those quiet burdens that settle in the marrow of our bones.

The sorrows never stay, like water they flow, the change course, they evaporate and if they seem to be stagnant, the water comes down as rain shower and breaks the stagnant frame of sorrow … this picture, is not just a click, it is a truth, a story in itself and the photographer is the artist!! Awesome click! Keep up the good work!
