The Infinite Echo
Why do we seek order in the chaos of existence? Perhaps it is because we are terrified of the void, and so we build walls, weave tapestries, and trace lines that return to their own beginning. We crave the comfort of a center, a point of stillness around which the rest of the world might safely spin. Yet, look closely at any design that promises perfection, and you will find the human hand trembling in the details—a slight deviation, a breath of hesitation. We are trying to map the infinite with finite tools, attempting to capture the divine in the geometry of the mundane. We build these structures to house our spirits, but in doing so, we often forget that the spirit is the only thing that cannot be contained by four walls or a circular frame. If the pattern is meant to lead us to the center, what happens when we realize the center is empty?

Masrur Ashraf has captured this sense of infinite reach in his beautiful image titled Mesmerizing Pattern. It invites us to look upward and lose ourselves in the complexity of the design. Does this symmetry bring you peace, or does it make you feel smaller?
