Home Reflections The Sudden Turn

The Sudden Turn

The sky does not ask permission. It simply shifts. One moment, the warmth is a promise kept. The next, the air grows heavy with the scent of wet stone and sudden, sharp cold. We are always caught in the middle of our own plans, carrying umbrellas we do not open, wearing coats we do not need, until the clouds decide otherwise.

A Very Brighton Spring by Daz Hamadi

It is a small, human comedy. To be surprised by the weather. To be surprised by the change. We stand on the edge of the land, watching the horizon darken, pretending we are in control of the day. But the rain falls regardless of our schedules. It washes the pavement clean. It forces us to look up, to stop, to feel the sting of the water against our skin.

What happens to the plans we made when the sky decides to weep?

Daz Hamadi has captured this fleeting shift in the image titled A Very Brighton Spring. Does the sudden rain feel like an intrusion, or a necessary cleansing?
