The Quiet Surface of Being
There is a profound wisdom in the way a flower rests upon the water. It does not struggle against the current, nor does it seek to rise above its environment. It simply exists, anchored in the depths while opening its heart to the sky. We spend so much of our lives trying to define ourselves by our movement, by the noise we make, or by the speed at which we travel toward our next destination. We forget that there is a sacred stillness available to us, a place where we can float without the need to arrive. To be like the lily is to accept the season of one’s own unfolding. It is to understand that beauty does not require a voice to be heard, nor a grand gesture to be felt. When we finally stop reaching, we find that the water has been holding us all along, reflecting the light we were always meant to carry.

Masudur Rahman has shared this grace in his work titled Water Lilies. It is a gentle reminder to pause and observe the quiet life that thrives in the stillness. May you find a moment today to simply float in the beauty of the present.
