The Quiet in the Crowd
I was standing in the middle of the train station this morning, waiting for my connection. It was one of those days where everyone seemed to be moving in a frantic, jagged rhythm. People were rushing past me, checking their watches, talking over each other, and dragging heavy suitcases across the floor. I felt like a stone in a stream, watching the water rush around me without ever touching it. For a moment, I just closed my eyes and tried to find a single point of stillness in the noise. It is strange how we can be surrounded by so much life and yet feel completely isolated in our own little bubble of calm. We spend so much energy trying to keep up with the pace of the world, but maybe the real trick is learning how to stand perfectly still while the rest of the world spins. Does it ever feel like you are the only one not running?

Pesch Andreas has captured this exact feeling of solitude in his beautiful image titled Geese in the Morning Dust. It reminds me that even in the busiest places, there is always a pocket of peace if you know where to look. Does this image make you feel like joining the crowd or staying in the quiet?
