The Blur of Certainty

Why do we insist that clarity is the only way to perceive the truth? We spend our lives sharpening our focus, desperate to define the edges of our reality, believing that if we can only see the lines clearly enough, we will finally understand the world. Yet, the most profound moments of our existence often arrive as soft, indistinct shapes. When we let go of the need to name every object and count every detail, the world ceases to be a collection of rigid things and becomes a dance of pure energy. Perhaps the sharp, hard edges we crave are merely a defense against the vast, glowing uncertainty that surrounds us. If we were to stop trying to force the world into focus, would we find that the blur is not a lack of vision, but a more honest way of seeing the interconnectedness of all things?

Bokeh of Traffic Lights by Siew Bee Lim

Siew Bee Lim has captured this beautifully in her image titled Bokeh of Traffic Lights. She invites us to look past the rigid signals of our daily routines and find the soft, rhythmic pulse of the city. Does this shift in perspective change how you see your own path tonight?
