The Architecture of Becoming

The wood of a tree does not cease its work once it is felled; it continues to hold the memory of the forest in its rings, a slow, silent record of drought and abundance that persists long after the sap has stopped its upward climb. We often mistake stillness for an end, viewing a carved object as a finished thing, yet the grain remains a living map of the earth it once inhabited. We are much the same, shaped by the seasons we have weathered, carrying the history of our own growth in the lines etched upon us by time and circumstance. We are never truly static; we are merely in a state of prolonged dormancy, waiting for the right light to remind us that we are still part of the wider, breathing world. If we are all vessels of our own history, what part of our original forest are we still carrying forward?

Pinokio Puppet by Ryszard Wierzbicki

Ryszard Wierzbicki has captured this quiet persistence in his image titled Pinokio Puppet. It serves as a gentle reminder that even the most crafted things retain the spirit of their origins. Does this figure remind you of the stories you have carried with you since childhood?
