Finding Color in the Gray
I spent this morning staring at the rain against my kitchen window. It was one of those heavy, gray days where the sky seems to press down on the roof, making everything inside feel a little dim and sluggish. I had a long list of chores, but I found myself just sitting there, watching the water streak the glass. It is easy to feel small when the world outside is so muted and colorless. We spend so much of our lives waiting for the sun to return, thinking that joy is something that only happens when the clouds finally break. But then I noticed a single, bright red petal stuck to the pavement outside, defiant against the wet concrete. It was such a small, stubborn spark of life. It made me realize that we don’t need a perfect day to find something worth noticing. Sometimes, the most vibrant things are the ones that refuse to hide when the weather turns against them. What is the smallest thing that has caught your eye lately?

Kirsten Bruening has captured this exact feeling of resilience in her beautiful image titled A Delight for the Eye. It serves as a gentle reminder to look closer at the world, even when the days feel long and gray. Does this image bring a bit of warmth to your day as well?
