Cradling the Infinite

I was walking back to my car after a late dinner last night when I stopped dead in my tracks. The sky was so clear it felt heavy, like a velvet blanket pressed against the rooftops. I found myself reaching out, just for a second, as if I could pluck a star or steady the moon if it started to drift too far. It was a silly, childish impulse, but it made me realize how often we look at the world as something distant, something happening far above our heads. We forget that we are part of the same fabric. We spend so much time looking down at our feet, worrying about the next step or the uneven pavement, that we miss the chance to feel connected to the vastness. What would change if we walked through our days believing that the biggest, brightest things in the universe were actually within our reach? Does the world feel smaller to you when you look at it that way?

Holding the Moon in Her Hands by Tisha Clinkenbeard

Tisha Clinkenbeard has captured this exact feeling of intimacy with the sky in her image titled Holding the Moon in Her Hands. It is a beautiful reminder that even the heavens can feel like they belong to us. Does this image make you feel like you could reach out and touch the night?
