A Little Bit of Sweetness
I spent most of this morning staring at the gray rain streaking my kitchen window. It was one of those days where the sky feels heavy and the house feels a little too quiet. I had a long list of chores, but instead, I found myself pulling a dusty tin of cookies from the back of the cupboard. I didn’t even really want one, but the act of opening something sweet felt like a small rebellion against the gloom. It is funny how we look for color when the world outside turns monochromatic. We try to manufacture our own brightness, whether it is through a warm drink, a bright scarf, or a tiny, sugary treat. It is not about ignoring the rain, but about deciding that the gray doesn’t have to be the only thing we see. Sometimes, a little bit of color is all it takes to shift the weight of an afternoon. Do you have a small ritual you turn to when the weather turns sour?

Leanne Lindsay has captured this exact feeling of warmth in her beautiful image titled Champagne Macarons. It is a lovely reminder that we can always find a bit of joy, even on the rainiest days. What is the one thing that always brightens your mood?
