Auto mode, in today’s cameras, can give an exposure. You can call it a snapshot; you can call it a moment; but you cannot call it a photograph, which has an artistic touch. Knowing the camera without its personality will not benefit the photographer, eventually he will realize that there are factors, which make the camera what it is to be an artistic tool.
