I was out and about, walking along the riverwalk in Tampa Bay, just kind of looking for something new to capture with my camera. You know how it is, sometimes you just want a fresh perspective. Anyway, as I was walking, I spotted these five little birds hanging out on the opposite side of the river. It was pretty cool! One of them, in particular, was perched right on top of the group, almost like it was keeping an eye on things. It was a neat little moment to witness.

I keep a small, rusted iron key in a velvet-lined box, though I have long since forgotten which door it once opened. It is heavy, cold to the touch, and carries the weight of a threshold I can no longer cross.
