Capturing the elusive Green-billed Malkoha required immense patience and a keen eye for the subtle movements of nature. Masudur Rahman encountered this shy subject near the Botanical Garden of Chittagong University, where the bird initially retreated into the dense canopy. After a tense thirty-minute wait, the photographer successfully secured this striking image as the bird emerged. The photograph is award-worthy for its technical precision in difficult lighting and the photographer's ability to document a notoriously reclusive species, transforming a fleeting, challenging encounter into a moment of serene, detailed beauty.
Born in 1967, Masudur Rahman is a dedicated wildlife photographer based in Chittagong, Bangladesh. Since beginning his journey with film portraiture in 1998, he has transitioned his focus toward the natural world, particularly bird photography, which he pursues with deep passion. A member of the Chittagong Bird Club, Rahman frequently contributes his avian imagery and insights to local weekly publications, driven by his belief that photography serves as a powerful medium for creative expression and positive social change.
