Captured on a crisp December day at Falliatoli Sea Beach in Bangladesh, this portrait of a Great Tit showcases the bird in a moment of profound stillness. The photographer utilized a 400mm focal length to isolate the subject against the coastal environment, capturing its serene demeanor as it went about its business. The image is award-worthy for its exceptional clarity and the intimate connection established between the lens and the subject, highlighting the delicate textures of the bird's plumage and the quiet, contemplative atmosphere of the scene.

There is a particular kind of grace in the way a small creature holds its place in the world. We often mistake movement for life, believing that to be alive is to be constantly busy, constantly reaching for the next branch or the next horizon.
Read the reflection →We spend our lives in a frantic choreography, convinced that to be alive is to be in motion, to be the wind that bends the grass or the tide that pulls at the shore. We equate stillness with absence, a hollow space waiting to be filled by the next demand.
