Waiting for a Catch by Masudur Rahman

Captured at the serene Faillatoli sea beach in Chittagong, this photograph showcases a vibrant kingfisher in its natural habitat. The photographer seized a quiet moment during a birding expedition, observing the bird as it perched patiently on a tree branch overlooking a pond, poised to hunt. The image is award-worthy for its crisp detail and the intimate perspective it offers of one of Bangladesh’s most beautiful avian species. By isolating the subject against the soft, natural backdrop, the photographer highlights the kingfisher's striking colors and focused demeanor, creating a compelling narrative of patience and wildlife survival.
