In the quiet hours of the morning, I often think about how we measure the success of a journey. We are taught to look at the summit, that singular point of arrival where the air thins and the world falls away beneath our feet.
Read the reflection →The mountain does not care if you are there. It has stood through winters that erased the memory of men, and it will stand long after the last boot print has been scoured away by the wind. We climb because we need to measure ourselves against something that cannot be moved.

Dusk and Daylilies by James Brown
Lovely photo. I wish I can have a view like that to capture
awesome photograph. it tells a real story, and that is what i like most in shots. the walker up front is farther ahead than the other man, almost telling the one behind to “come along,” perhaps even, “hurry up.” this shows the long arduous journey they have been embarking upon. this photo portrays this excellently.
the photo also portrays nature against man, and in a splendid way!
i also love the movement and the lighting in this photo. the men walking, as well as the winding mountains, portray great movement. the lighting is exquisite.
and well, it’s just cool!
Cool shot!
